Hi! I’m Jessinia (she/her or they/them pronouns) and am a yoga teacher in Seattle (occupied Duwamish land). I’ve been practicing yoga since I could walk, learning from my yoga teacher mom and expert arm-balancer dad. While managing my chronic illness and anxiety, I started to deepen my home practice to get back into my body. I had to get creative on my mat when I didn’t have the capacity to do asana (poses) as I once could. This led me to my passion to make yoga more accessible for any body at any time in their life.
Curious of the history and practice of yoga, I completed my 200 hour yoga training at Sangha Yoga Studio in Seattle in 2019-2020 with Heather Faulkin, along with other amazing teachers. I am also completing the Yoga for All training with Dianne Bondy and Amber Karnes. I am continually learning how to engage all eight limbs of yoga to become a better person. Currently, I am working through a somatic study of My Grandmother’s Hands by Resmaa Menakem and am committed to unlearning the racism in my body.
